Quote #1: Sergeants shouldn't tell you take the laundry to the place like this without telling you what the place is.

Response #1: I really liked this quote because it really mad me think for awhile and after I think it means that you shouldn't count your chickens before they hatch because he's saying that you should never assume anything. I've never heard this quote before and I really like it. Its also really cool how he made it seem like there was a higher person such as the "sergeant" and that clicked in my head and I used my previous knowledge that a sergeant is a very high position in the medical industry.

I also liked how the author used something that most people don't like such as the "Laundry." Frank really did a great job comparing things through this whole book. There was another thing that I pointed out, He is implied that he has been through something like this before. You can sort of tell in the way he describes it that he's had someone trick him or deceived him.

Response #2: I love that the author made it seem like they thrive on being promoted. I think this is important because they will do anything to be better. Its cool that he also made it seem as though they still have the slightest bit of hope and that could stand for numerous of things such as America today. Past events like when the great depression. Events like this make it clear that even when everything is going really bad that someone still has hope

I wonder why the author...

I wonder why the author made Jane not answer the phone when he finally pushes his worry's aside. He instead called Carl. I personally would have written it so that she picked up but I think he wanted to make Jane more mysterious. I think this was good and bad because it delayed the story but kept me guessing so it was useful in certain ways. I'l also like to point out that he meets up with him later. This was interesting because Carl went to his old school. This was strange because he jumped back into the story and I though that was strange he would make him be the first person he would call. I think that Jane shouldn't have picked up and that is what I would have done.

How does this story remind you of you life...

I think it does because I think that I know what he might be going through because he could feel a little sad because Jane didn't answer and he could feel unselfconscious about his looks and I've been through the same thing and it is sad and very discouraging. I've also called an old friend of mine for advice so that connection is what I think when I thought. There might be another time but i remember called my old friend from third grade.

Response #1: I think that this quote really shows that he doesn't really like this place at all. He's obviously board and he didn't like how his life there was. its interesting that he didn't because he's getting job. That would be a good thing at this time and everybody wants a job and make money.

Response #2: I think its cool how it really shows how they talked back then and its pretty interesting how this author writes. He writes as though its a rant and as you can see the quote that I picked was pretty long and its strange. I think that another reason i really like this quote is that I can really see the time that there living in, even though it wasn't that lang ago it describes. I also think that Eddie knows his way around already and its like he's gotten use to it.

QUESTION 1:What in the book upsets you or bothers you? Why?

RESPONSE 1: I think that as an author you need to do certain things to catch you audience to make them want to not put down this book. I think this book had a slow start and they need to get it together because I get board quickly and i wanted to stay with this book because I've heard really good things about this book but if you don't have a strong and appealing opening you might just lose your audience, and every writers main task should be to keep your readers reading! I like to write and to me it would be heartbreaking to hear that someone put down my book because of something I could prevent.


QUESTION 2:Make up a motto that one of the characters seems to live by. How and why does this fit the character?

RESPONSE 2 I think if i had to pick a motto for Holden I would make it "I do things my way." I think I would pick this because Holden seems like he is a tough guy and he does what he wants at all times. Holden is a bad boy and he's been kicked out of many of schools as it says in the book. Now a days that kind of things wouldn't fly because schools have cracked down on those types of things. I think he took advantage of that time period and he perfected it. Like I said before he did a good job at connecting to kids

I would see perfect in my book as Holden's friend. I think we would get along because I'm not into the whole preppy thing and girls and guys that so perfect. I would travail with him to see the Spencer's. We would get along because I think he seems cool. I like how the author describes him exactly like my father when he was growing up. This character really reminds me of him when he was a kid. I think the Holden and I would be Buddy's. He thinks the same way and acts the same way. I've never gotten kicked out of a school though. I think that it's too early to tell for sure but I think I am a lot like him. I just started to read this book and I really like the characters and everything about it.

QUESTION 1: Would you read another book by this author?

RESPONSE 1: I would from what I've read so far because I like the plot and style of his writing and how descriptive he is. he writes a lot of story's on good topics. this book in particular is cool because he writes about an outcast. I enjoy his style of writing because he writes about true things. He wrote about how school is not always a good thing and adults try to make school sound good and here he shows that he connects with his childhood. I think that this is good to read because I think that it makes me want to read it more and more.


QUESTION 2: What does this book remind you of?

RESPONSE 2 I think that this reminds me of everyday things. He had a good sense of things and he knew that he could get attention from certain audiences. It was cool that he caught my attention so fast. Ms. G and Ms. Collen though I would like this story a lot.

simons last wishes

the scene that i thought was the worst and the most interesting was when the lord of the flies was talking to Simon. i thought this was the only good option that was given to me so i will write about it. what happened in this chapter was after jack had killed the pig was he stuck the head of the pig on a stick thus creating the lord of the flies. This is a figment of the boys imagination.

this is weird in many ways if you think about it because i think golding was trying to state that people in the world are messed up and they will continue being messed up. in case you don't understand if there were twelve people on a plane and a man had a gun and said to do orders and if you didn't do what he asked he would kill your baby. for this scenario the common person would either try to listen to his orders or B just kill the man. this is what golding is trying to state. that put into a situation you will do anything to save your self even if it cost the life of another person and that is pure evil and i agree with him 100%

I chose this because I felt that I have a strong opinion on the subject and i have a lot to say and that I can kind of shine a light on the topic and who ever reads this and see a different side because you might not agree with golding. so I think that this is a good way to show how I feel

scared out of my mind

I'm scared because all the boys that are following jack and the hunters are acting very scary and they are doing strange things. they think that hunting is more important then getting the heck out of here. we went to get some meat and poor piggy. jack docent like piggy so he didn't give him meat. it was very disturbing how jack and all of them just came into the camp and took our wood i mean who do they think they are. if they just asked we would have given them some wood but steeling is not okay.

Roger is creepy when they guys were playing that stupid game were they were reacting killing the pig they in fact were acting like animals except animals don't taunt something before they kill it. that is the difference between animals and savages. Were humans and we are acting crazy, maybe its the sun effecting all of us and making us seem so crazy.

i have been thinking a lot lately that if i were to die tomorrow would I have anything to show for my life. Do you see what I mean. All the other boys have helped in some way like jack he's gotten us meat. piggy is the brains, Ralph is the leader and I don't do anything

I am really mad at Ralph. Ralph only cares about getting off this island he docent take the Time to see the true beauty of the island, all the does is stress out about ways to get out of here. he needs to be more like me and calm down and go hunting and have fun. he thinks as this experience as a bad thing, me on the other hand is enjoying the island. heck, i have a better thought on the island, i should be the chief.

I'm a better leader and i actually know what I'm doing instead of that dumb Ralph, he just goes with the flow. I would make a ten times better leader. it makes me so mad i just get so mad, sometimes I can't control myself. I hope i don't get waxy over something stupid and lose all my self control. that seems to be something i tend t do a lot.

I had the great idea of making the signal fire and he took it from me and blamed it on me that it was my fault. i think that Ralph is a terrible leader and he shouldn't be and that i should. I am starting no to like him so much. Therese not much i can do tho but maybe if i get the rest of the boys to be against him with me we and Mounty him off as chief. it is going to be wicked hard though. All the boys like him so much

Oh my goodness. I really cant handle jack he is starting an out rage. his fire idea worked out so well. besides we anent thinking before we do anything and just jumping to conclusions like the fire Ralph had a good idea of making a signal fire and everybody just rushes up to the mountain and we cause this huge wild fire and burn down half of the island and we still haven't gotten off this horrific island because he had to go and hunt like the great man he is and not pay any attention to the fire. the ship was looking for us and it just passed. thats not even the worst part jack hates my guts now for no reason.

today I had a good idea to make our time on the island a little better but no one admired me for it. when jack was off trying to catch a pig I was doing more important things. hunting for meat sounds great but we already have fruit and nuts why do we need meat that should be the last thing we should really should worry about. i wanted to make shelters so if a storm came we could be some what of a place to be safe, but does anybody help simon. i feel that no one listens to me on the island well at least we got to build three pretty good house and there sturdy and thats what really matters. the worst part is what if a ship comes and the hunters and jack are trying to catch a pig, there not doin there one and only job that is to watch the fire but i cant say anything to jack he is scary. i cant possibly stand up to a boy like jack maybe if i talk to Ralph h will do something. I hope he doesn't mention my name or, or, ... im starting to get dizzy i might pass out

Day two and were still stuck on this island. I shouldn't be complaining because Therese a lot of food well fruit,no meat not yet at least. Its really hot on the other hand therese a huge lagoon that is perfect to swim in and to cool you down after the day. I'm still not sure what that kid with the scar on his eye and he was talking about a "beastie" of some sort i don't believe them. there ll just seeing things. Therese not acutely a bestie. i came up with the beast plan today to maintain a signal fire by using that no good fatty piggy's specks to light the fire. it was his fault that the fire went out of hand and burned half of the beautiful island. I'm still not sure what happened to that boy with the scar on his eye but all I know is that he was in the a area where all the trees burned to the ground. I still think that I'm the one on the island that is the smartest and I'm sure that I will get us off for sure. I have the most survival skills on this island and

I think that i would do it again because i lerned alot during this expirence.

Do you think that the island was a great place to get staneded on if you had to be straneded?

yes because we had found the pigs were and there was alot of laggons to bath in, the onlything that i had a problem was with the scorching heat


did the other kids on the island look up to you on the island?

i think so because there not much and and i was just there and I looked old and looked like i new what i was doing and it turned out that i had some really good ideas



do you think that if you could kick someone off the island who would it be?

I'm not sure that Roger kid scares me!

i dont know but it was really fun and i'm guessing that it wolnt have eny afect on us in the future

well if a ship that was looking for us or a plane flue by i thought it would be a good idea if me made a singnal fire so they could see the smoke.

we ate pigs and pigglets and bark and small incets. i no what your thinking dosnt sound very appleing but you would eat enything when your starving

If I Was Stuck On A Island

If I was stuck on a island and I could only bring three things that were important to me it would be a very hard decision for me because there are thousands of things that I would and could bring, but if I had to limit my choices I would have to bring my ipod as one of my objects. The purpose of this is so that I would have something to do on the island, I know that sounds bad but I get board very easy. You could ask anybody that knows me well and they could tell you that I am a very musical person I am always singing. I don’t think that there is a minute in the day that I’m not listening to music, well not in Ms. G or Mr. T’s class of course. For my second choice of an object that I can bring on a island would be a huge fridge filled with food and clothes because I’m a big boy so I need a lot of food and I always got to look good. Some of the foods that would be in my fridge would consist of salmon because my family eats a lot of fish and seafood. I also would want lots of cheetos, soda, and candy. I’m kind of a fast food addict but I don’t like McDonalds so I have that going for me. I personally think that this is a great idea but if I can’t smuggle the food in pass the airport security. Last and final thing I would bring on a deserted island would be a surfboard. Well if there were some good waves. The significance of bringing a surfboard is to keep me entertained. Surfing is one of my favorite hobbies and I can do it for hours and hours without getting bored. If I had all three things I would be set, after all these reasons I could live there forever.

And those are my objects to keep me alive on an island

If I was stuck on a island and I could only bring three people I would have to say my first person would be Max Haggard in our class. The obvious purpose for this is so he could help in numerous ways such as… building fires, finding wood, and notifying me on what berries our good to eat and which ones would probably make me very sick. My second person would be Mauro from our class. As you may know Mauro and I are good friends and so we could maybe get through the horrible experience together. Another perk is that he is super smart and so along with max he would be very useful. for the last and luckiest person to send a bad day on a island wait did I say day it could be months or even years, wow that sucks anyways I would choose my dad because he is usually really good in bad situations and he may throw in a good thought or too ahah I’m of course just kidding. I love him to death and he would be happy of me to choose him
